  1. The importance of the right nozzle for your pressure washer:  At first glance, it may seem as though there is little or no difference between what type of nozzle to use for different wash jobs. In reality there is a very big difference, so big that if you don’t choose carefully, you could damage the items you are washing.  For example, if you decide to wash your car, and use A 0° nozzle, this could seriously peel off your car paint, not to mention it also hardly covers any cleaning space. Using a 25° nozzle is a perfect combination of the right pressure while still cleaning quite a wide range.  Thus, the decision of nozzle choice is a very important one.

  2. Removing trapped air: It is very important to remove any air that may be trapped in the pressure washer before starting the motor. Simply attach your garden hose to the pressure washer, and releasing the trigger gun, let water run at the garden hose pressure for about a minute.  Afterwards you can turn on the motor. This ensures that any captured air gets released so that the pump will work properly.

  3. Planning ahead: When you’re ready to start power washing, it is important  to take precautions to assure effiencency and safety. For example, if you want to power wash old paint from your house, make sure to cover your flowers and plants with a tarp so that they won’t get damaged. Or keep into consideration of your space so that you won’t spray in your neighbour’s yard and home. Another consideration is that if your house was painted before 1977, the paint may contain lead which is hazardous to your health. If your paint does contain lead, make sure to wear a mask and be sure to remove any leftover paint that may be inhaled or ingested accidently.

  4. Do NOT use bleach:  Bleach will seriously damage or even destroy your power washer’s pump seals and in the end make your power washer useless. If you would like to add some detergent with your pressure washer, be sure to buy only approved detergent for the best results.
